
Carrie-Anne Moss (born August 21 1967 [121st, 1967 [1) is a Canadian actress from Canada. After early roles on television and film, she gained fame internationally for her portrayal of Trinity in The Matrix series (1999-present). Memento (2000) was awarded the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male, Red Planet (2000), Chocolat (2000) and Fido (2006). Snow Cake (2006) received the Genie Award as Best Performance by an Actress In an Supporting Character. She also played Jeri Hogarth in several television series produced by Marvel Television for Netflix, particularly Jessica Jones (2015-2019). Moss was living in Spain when she was approached for the part as Tara Judge Nicholas Marshall's Clerk, in the drama series Dark Justice. This was her first time on TV. Moss relocated from Barcelona to Los Angeles with the series in 1992. Moss was forced out of Dark Justice after the third season as well as the last. Elisa Heinsohn replaced her as Samantha "Sam". Following her return, she enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Pasadena. There, she was a model and later appeared in Fox's soap opera of the same name Models Inc. The show was cancelled July 1995. She was the lead actress in a short-lived Canadian-made series titled Matrix. In the course of the 1990s she appeared in several television series including Street Justice, Baywatch, F/X: The Series, and Due South, for which she received a nomination for the Gemini Award for Best Guest actor in the Drama. Her film credits included numerous B films, including Flashfire (1994), The Soft Kill (94), Tough Guy (94), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (191996) and The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
